I worked my butt off this weekend on my guest bath. I was officially SICK of having only one bathroom with a mirror. You see – my motivation to work on this space comes in waves. I may only go in that room once a month… so it’s not exactly top of mind. For some reason, Saturday it became my mission!

Here’s a reminder of what the space looked like when I moved in:

Sorry about the photos… when I did my first walk-through of the house I never dreamed I’d be blogging about it 2 years later. Check out those flippin SWEET plastic bathroom towel racks. You know you wish you had them.

It’s the world’s SMALLEST bathroom. Ok… maybe not a world record holder, but still – it’s pretty dang small. Somehow they managed to squish in a shower, vanity and toilet… into what couldn’t be bigger than 5′ x 5′. Seriously tiny.  I’ve used the shower ONCE and let me tell you – that. thing. is. tight.  …and not a super cool, street-cred type of tight… I’m talking keep-your-elbows-tucked-as-you-raise-your-arms-to-shampoo-your-hair tight.  ….and absolutely-impossible-for-a-girl-to-shave-her-legs-in-tight.  Yup…. it’s THAT small.

So a quick run down…

…and then it sat in waiting… Until this weekend!

I’ll blog more details in the coming days, but here’s a fun, fresh look at what the space looks like now:

I haven’t exactly “staged” it… It’s so small that I think I’ll have to keep the decor to a minimum so guests have room for their things when they come to visit. There’s nothing worse than having zippy counter space to stick a bag o’ toiletries!

I’ll eventually replace the mirror, but for now, this one will do. I’m tossing around the idea of a crisp white or maybe a brushed nickle frame mirror. Thoughts? The faucet needs to go… as does the light fixture. One step at a time though! The funky three-pronged hook on the wall is from Ikea and the blue ball jar was a thrift-store find for TWO BUCKS! (If you haven’t noticed – I love ball jars. Remember my three-jar kitchen light and recent jar lamp?)

I’ll give you the scoop on how I did the plank wall and info on the paint I used for the vanity in a day or so. Sorry… I’d spill ALL the beans tonight, but it’s already 10pm and this girl needs her beauty sleep. Plus – there’s still the space above the toilet to reveal. Woop! Stay tuned!
